The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Luke McCown to a one year contract, intending for him to back up David Garrard.
McCown has spent the last two seasons with Jacksonville but only played in one game during 2010 after tearing a knee ligament in Week 2.
Over his seven season career, McCown has played in 16 games, with seven starts. He has completed 154 of 260 passes for 1,739 yards, with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Bears Give Lovie 2-Year Extension
The Bears agreed to terms with head coach Lovie Smith on a two-year contract extension that keeps him with the club through 2013.
Smith has led the Bears to three NFC North titles and three double-digit win totals in the last six seasons (2005, 2006 and 2010).
Smith has a regular season coaching record of 63-49 and is 3-3 in the postseason (66-52 overall). His 66 wins are third-most in franchise history, trailing only George Halas and Mike Ditka. He also guided the team to its first Super Bowl appearance in 21 years when Chicago advanced to Super Bowl XLI.
Raiders, Routt Agree To Extension
The Raiders have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with cornerback Stanford Routt, according to a source.
Routt, a six-year pro, was an offseason priority for the Raiders after the team voided the contract of perennial Pro Bowl pick Nnamdi Asomugha, who likely is leaving via free agency.
Broncos, Bailey Reach Four-Year Deal
The Broncos and Champ Bailey have agreed on a four-year deal.
It's possible that the Pro Bowl cornerback could have earned more money on the open market.
"One thing I've learned, the grass ain't always greener," Bailey. "I could go to an organization that looks like they're ready and then they're not ready and then I'm miserable because I'm around a lot of unfamiliar faces and in an unfamiliar place.
"I thought about that and I thought about being on the market. But all in all, it didn't really take me to forgive them. There's new people in charge up there. I know that I could have gotten something worked out. Once Josh McDaniels left, things did work out, didn't it?"
A source indicated Bailey signed a four-year deal that could be worth between $43 million and $47 million.
Lions Agree To Terms With Erik Coleman
The Lions have agreed to a contract with safety Erik Coleman, according to a source.
The source, who spoke Friday on condition of anonymity because the agreement had not been announced, did not specify the length of the deal.
Coleman has played seven seasons in the NFL, the last three with the Falcons.
Raiders, Seymour Agree To Extension
The Raiders will keep Richard Seymour off the free-agent market once a new collective bargaining agreement goes into effect.
Seymour and Oakland agreed to a two-year contract, potentially worth $30 million and containing $22.5 million guaranteed, according to an SI.com report.
The defensive end, 31, went to the Pro Bowl last season, making a big impact in his second season in Oakland after being acquired in a trade from New England.
